Reach for Healthy Schools! While children's health is not solely dependent on their school, schools can have a significant impact on creating an environment that fosters healthy behaviors. Developing these behaviors in childhood and adolescence promotes optimal health, growth, and academic achievement. We know from the research that healthy, properly nourished and fit students attend school on a regular basis, perform well in class and on tests, and are better able to concentrate on their work. We will be using evidence based strategies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that positively impact healthy eating and physical activity behaviors during the school year. These initiatives include:

  • Need at least 1 hour of physical activity everyday
